What to Expect
This two-day workshop integrates classroom and on-site experiences at Bullfrog Spas to build on the teachings from the DISCOVER EXCELLENCE workshop, focusing on the Systems and Tools diamonds of the Shingo Model. Participants learn all work in an organization is the outcome of a system. Systems must be designed with a specific objective; otherwise, they evolve on their own. Systems drive the behaviors of people, and variation in behaviors leads to variation in results. Organizational excellence requires well-designed systems to drive ideal behaviors, which are required to produce sustainable results.
Discover the three types of essential systems.
Explore the five required communication tools for each system.
Learn how to create and use system maps.
Understand system standard work and how it drives improvement.
Prerequisite: DISCOVER EXCELLENCE
❋ Intentional Structure
Each participant receives our unique BRILLIANT WORKFORCE™ Workshop Toolkits to organize handouts, create curiosity and drive engagement.
❋ Collaborative Environment
The real learning takes place in the discussions. We will not sacrifice a meaningful discussion to “stay on track” with the content. Content is the catalyst for meaningful discussions.
❋ Expert Facilitation
Our facilitators share personal and industry experiences to foster the same from participants, as a means to drive learning through meaningful discussions.
See logistics information at bottom of this page.
❋ A Supportive Space
We do not fear hard questions, and in fact, encourage them. Hard questions indicate people are contemplating in their minds how what they learn works for them and their organization.

Logistics
Our objective is to make this experience as meaningful as possible for you, both inside and outside the workshop. Below is information to assist you in making your experience as enjoyable and trouble free as possible.
Arrival
Bullfrog Spas is approximately 30 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport.
When arriving at Bullfrog Spas, GPS will take you to the West Entrance, which is the factory store. Park on the east side of the building and enter through the business offices, also on the east side.
We respectfully request that you, “Respect Every Individual,” and be early so we do not have to wait to begin the workshop.
Lodging
The closest hotel property is a SpringHill Suites by Marriott Salt Lake City-South Jordan, 10-15 minutes away, depending on traffic. If you choose to stay here, be sure to use the Bullfrog Spas pricing.
Another 5-10 minutes aware are numerous hotel properties of various brands just off I-15 and 10600 South.
Dining
Lunch, as well as morning and afternoon snacks will be provided by Bullfrog Spas.
There are a number of dining options between the hotels and Bullfrog. Some familiar national chains and other local favorites.
For a really unique experience you might consider Garage Grill & Salt Flats Bar Herriman. Dine beneath and actual F1 or Indy car, or a full carbon fiber McLaren, among other visual treats for the motorhead in you.
For a truly unique dining experience, consider The Roof restaurant on the top floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building (formerly the Hotel Utah). You will need to book reservations and the best time and place for your reservation is at table on the west window about 45 minutes before sunset, so you can watch the sunset over the west desert. We highly recommend this dining experience!
Points of Interest
A unique opportunity close to Bullfrog Spas is the Rio Tinto Kennecott Visitors Experience, tour of the largest open pit mine in the world, which can be observed in space with the naked eye. Tickets are $6 and the tour itself allows you to visit for as long as you like, with the trip to and from the observation areas, about 30 minutes each way. As a note, take a jacket as it is windy and sometimes very cool at the observation areas.
A number of canyons you can visit are in the area, famous for hiking and skiing.
The Salt Flats are a fair distance away, but interesting to visit. This is the location where land speed records are set, and also where a good part of the film, “The World’s Fastest Indian” was filmed.
There are also a number of historic sites you can visit, including Temple Square, which is in the final phases of a multi-year, renovation.
